The liberal approach to social problems is like the owner of a liquor store who knowingly hires an alcoholic to run the store. The owner provides the alcoholic with a room in the back so they will have a safe place to stay and will not have to leave the store, and never questions when items are missing from the inventory. The owner then congratulates themselves on how caring and thoughtful they are. All the time wondering why the store is starting to look shabby and the business is losing money.
