Public Opinion Polls

There are two kinds of opinion polls, the private polls that are used by the paying party to help them determine a course of action, and the public polls that are designed to influence public opinion. Or as Mark Twain said, "Lies, damn lies, and statistics." There are many examples today of how a poll can be skewed to a specific outcome. So when you read the news on this presidential election. Think about what is the most prominent piece of news from our friends in the main stream media. Do they discuss the merits of the candidates proposals? Do they discuss their qualifications? Do they discuss the problems that are being talked about and possible solutions to them? No, they talk about polls, who is ahead, who has raised the most money, who won what primary.

Watching the main stream media cover the presidential elections is like watching a soap opera. The depth of coverage and insight into the issues is almost non-existant. The media does not want to discuss the issues in depth. Instead the election is more of a popularity contest, as if we were selecting the next homecoming king and queen. Such shallow reporting is just fine with the media. They really do not want to get into the merits of the candidates. They want to sway you into supporting the candidate that they want you to vote for. It is probably true that most people in the media think that you are too stupid to grasp the issues. Instead the media attempts to sway your opinion by these non-stop popularity polls, the questions they ask the candidates, and what they choose and choose not to report.

So if you want to make a better choice than what the sheeple are being led to choose, than you need to stop reading the public manipulation polls put out by the media, and start studying the issues yourself. Show the world you are not as dumb and easily led as they think you are.
