Barack Obama Pros and Cons
What I like about Barack Obama:
1. Presence, he acts like a leader, seems self assured, and speaks naturally. George Bush has showed us just how important it is for a president to be an outstanding public speaker. You can't inspire people, or persuade them to follow your policies if you cannot articulate what your vision is. Obama seems to be a natural like John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton.
2. Free trade, I like the fact that he says he is willing to stand up to the abuses that our so called partners are doing that puts our products and services at a disadvantage to their own. Obama on trade
3. He claims that he is willing to invest in technology and infrastructure. Obama on innovation
4. He wants to invest in clean energy. Obama on energy
5. He supports Congressional reform. Obama on ethics.
What I don't like about Barack Obama
1. Who is Barack Obama? Do we really know that much about the man, and his beliefs? Below are a couple of links regarding his background:
The Chicago Tribune - The not-so-simple story of Barack Obama's youth
Andy Martin - ContrarianCommentary.com
Acuracy in Media - Obama's Communist Mentor
2. Experience, sure Mr. Obama has charisma, but does he have enough experience to become the President of the United States? There have been a few times during the Presidential campaign when Mr. Obama has made statements about foreign policy that seemed down right naive. Some of them touched of a storm of anger against him. I just don't know if he has had enough experience to handle a very troubling time in our history.
3. He is considered to be the most liberal senator in Congress. That doesn't sound to me like a person who will cross the isle to work with conservatives.
4. His relation with Bill Ayers, a member of the radical '60s terrorist group the Weather Underground. Which helps to reinforce his image as an extreme liberal.
5. His relation with Louis Farrakhan. A man known for his racist and anti-semitic remarks.
6. His campaign promises to balance the budget, reduce taxes for low income workers, invest in technology and infrastructure, create programs to help the poor, and ex-prisoners, and provide universal . Now how is he going to pay for all of this and balance the budget? The only way would be to add massive tax increases on the middle class.
7. Iraq, Mr. Obama's Iraq policy may play well to the noisy and mostly paid anti-war crowd; but it is a recipe for disaster. I think this shows a lack of understanding of just what could go wrong by providing an fixed time line for withdrawal. It shows our hand to the enemy and lets them plan the best way to exploit the decision.
8. I find it disturbing how the media fawns over Obama, and attacks anyone who would dare to challenge him. It feels rather Orwellian the way the media has already anointed him.
The bottom line is that Barack Obama's idea of change is more socialism, more political correctness, more taxes, more government regulations, more of the nanny state, and less freedom for us. That kind of change does not get me too excited.

Don't forget the Green River oil shale deposits.
Solar power on individual homes and businesses.
Hydrogen cars, GM has several market ready hydrogen vehicles. The Equinox, the Cadillac Provoq, the GM Volt, and possibly the Buick Riviera concept. All of them built on a revolutionary new platform for creating the next generation of low emission to no emission and no gas vehicles.
Energy independence is doable, with the right leadership. Just think, no more oil from the worlds despots, fewer greenhouse gases, and more jobs in the U.S.
